===[[Martyr Mode]]===

Martyr Mode is a creative twist on player-vs.-player combat in an MMO. It feels like a morbid game of keep-away, with two teams of 10 players trying to hold onto the Fang of Regulus to score points for their team while the other side hunts down the fang-holder. It's a chaotic, fun mess from the moment you grab the fang to when you eventually get dog-piled and shredded to bits by the other team.<ref name="pcgamerfeb2011">Official forums discussion of PC Gamer Feb 2011 PvP Article - [http://forums.riftgame.com/showthread.php?17544-PC-Gamer-Feb-2011-Discusses-Rift-PvP forums.riftgame.com]</ref>

A warfront is an instanced PvP area for which people can queue to fight other players. There will be at least 7 different Warfronts maps.

  • Warfronts will be cross-realm.[1]

Warfronts

Black Garden

Black Garden is a Martyrdom[2] mode map.

The Codex

The Codex is a team control point map with an extra point in the middle of the map that boosts your score much faster than the other control points. The central objective and smaller map size keeps combat constant and frenetic.[3]

Sunbreaker Cliffs[4]

Whitefall Steppes[4]

Whitefall Steppes is a capture the flag (CTF) mode map.[5] At first glance, the Winterfall Steppes map looks like it might be PvPvE - an Air Rift, which usually spawns NPCs, floats in the middle of the battlefield. But in this case the rift is strictly cosmetic, and the map sticks to standard capture the flag gameplay.[3]
